Douglass Talbot began his real estate career as a civil engineer working for real estate developers involved in various projects in Louisiana and Texas. Since that time Mr. Talbot has held positions for two national real estate developers and founded a successful real estate development company. Mr. Talbot was Vice President of the Land Division for Bluegreen Corporation for over eleven years and was responsible for developing over 20 residential communities along the East Coast from Pennsylvania to Florida. The retail sales value of these projects was in excess of 200 million. During this time Mr. Talbot was involved in the acquisition, development and sales of all Bluegreen projects and was directly involved in all aspects of managing the company.
Mr. Talbot was a founding partner and President of Southern Lifestyles, which began in Wilmington, NC in 1997 and continues today as a developer of waterfront communities on the East Coast. Southern Lifestyles has developed over 100 million in waterfront communities in North and South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. As President of the company Mr. Talbot managed the day-to-day operations of SL and was responsible for the operation of the company.
Mr. Talbot was hired by Land Resource Companies in 2003 has a consultant to expand the Atlanta based development company along the East Coast. LRC directed Mr. Talbot to acquisition and develop properties on the East Coast that would allow LRC to become a leader in the residential real estate market. During his tenure with LRC Mr. Talbot was responsible for developing over 100 million in projects from West Virginia to Georgia. Mr. Talbot left LRC in 2005 and is no longer affiliated with the company.
Currently Mr. Talbot is a partner in several waterfront communities in Wilmington, NC and serves as a consultant to real estate developers in North Carolina under Land Development Specialists a company Mr. Talbot owns. Mr. Talbot is a licensed Real Estate Broker in North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas. In addition, Mr. Talbot holds a Real Estate License in New Jersey.
